Accomplishments/Noteworthy Results:

After spending his first nine years defending personal injury claims on behalf of insurance companies, Mr. Tarpey decided to switch sides so as to utilize his trial skills in representing injured individuals rather than the big insurance companies. Mr. Tarpey's experience as a defense lawyer allowed him to gain valuable knowledge regarding insurance companies' evaluation and defense of claims, which he now employs to maximize the recovery for his injured clients.

Mr. Tarpey has successfully tried over 75 cases to jury verdict against trucking companies, hospitals, doctors, airlines and construction contractors. After joining the law firm of Paul B. Episcope, LLC in 2000, Mr. Tarpey obtained a record-setting $10.6 million dollar jury verdict in his very first case tried as a Plaintiff's lawyer. Since that time Mr. Tarpey has obtained several multimillion dollar verdicts and settlements including, most recently, a $2.6 million dollar settlement on behalf of a flight attendant, a $4.75 million dollar settlement against a hospital for medical negligence and a $1.5 million dollar jury verdict against a doctor for malpractice. Mr. Tarpey is a third-generation Chicago trial lawyer who has been known for winning the tough cases that most lawyers think could not be won. Given his very competitive nature, he has found representing the 'underdog' client to be very challenging and, more importantly, rewarding.

Mr. Tarpey has been named a "Super Lawyer" by Super Lawyers Magazine every year since 2013.
